Words make you think a thought. Music makes you feel a feeling. A song makes you feel a thought.

Friends,
Happy Groundhog Day. Here are five things I’ve been doing/exploring/thinking about this week:
I’ve been listening to a lot of 70s music this week. I spent my formative years exposed to (very) diverse musical styles, but I'm still amazed that one of the funkiest bands of the 70s was a bunch of hairy white Scottish lads.
My weekdays are often defined in several pomodoros--25-minute blocks of focus time punctuated by breaks. In my distracted world, this tool has helped me focus more than anything else I've tried. I use Be Focused Pro on a Mac, but any timer will do.
They’re remaking Highlander, one of my favorite movies, with Henry Cavill in the lead role. Last time it was a French guy playing an immortal Scotsman; this time it’s a Brit. I have mixed feelings.
I love vintage technology, especially calculators. I’ve had and used the legendary HP-15c since the 80s, and it’s a beauty. Remember when tech was beautiful?
I’m a believer in (and practitioner of) taking small steps. I set a goal for January 2024 of 1,000 pushups and 1,000 bodyweight squats, and reached it. I’m not bragging that I can do pushups/squats; I just want to show that small steps add up, often quickly.
It does not matter how slowly you go as long as you do not stop.
